Maison Margiela Opens Stunning New Boutique at Mall of the Emirates

Maison Margiela has announced the grand opening of its latest boutique at Mall of the Emirates, marking another significant milestone in the brand’s expansion across the Middle East. The launch follows a strategic joint venture between OTB Group and Chalhoub Group, as revealed last June, further cementing Maison Margiela's presence in the region.


Occupying an impressive 265 square meters, the new boutique offers an immersive shopping experience that combines modern design with the signature elements of Maison Margiela’s aesthetic. The space also boasts a 40-square-meter terrace café, offering shoppers a unique spot to relax and reflect, operated by AP&Co. Hospitality.


The boutique's design took a full year to conceptualize and build, showcasing the brand’s dedication to craftsmanship and avant-garde design. The exterior and interior are framed by sweeping curves of travertine, Maison Margiela’s latest visual code, that beckons customers into the brand’s universe. The façade, a striking composition of curved backlit travertine tubes, highlights the iconic Tabi footprint—an emblem synonymous with Maison Margiela—subtly featured as a recurring pattern.


Once inside, guests are greeted by a space that harmoniously blends modern luxury with the brand's signature deconstructed aesthetic. Dark patinated bronze flows from the storefront to key collection displays, adding an element of warmth to the minimalistic space. The boutique offers Maison Margiela’s complete range of products, including their iconic bags, small leather goods, and footwear, which are given pride of place in a spacious central area. Ready-to-wear collections are displayed towards the rear of the boutique, encouraging visitors to explore the brand’s world as they move through the space.




An air of “unconscious glamour” pervades the store, enhanced by the artfully arranged décor. Misfit furniture and a travertine sofa, reminiscent of deconstructed classic objects, add a playful yet sophisticated touch. The shelves, display tables, and seating further exemplify Maison Margiela’s décortiqué technique, with their stained travertine surfaces contrasting against optical white resin-filled indentations, lending an artful, sculptural feel to the interiors.


For an even more exclusive shopping experience, the boutique includes three spacious fitting rooms, one of which is a dedicated VIP suite. This luxurious space, framed by travertine tubes for added privacy, offers an intimate setting for discerning clientele.

In celebration of the boutique’s opening, Maison Margiela has released a limited-edition Snatched bag and small leather goods collection, available in a distinctive Thyme color.


This exclusive line is sure to be a coveted item for collectors and fashion enthusiasts alike.

The Mall of the Emirates store follows the successful launch of similar Maison Margiela boutiques in renowned cities such as London, Paris, Osaka, and Shanghai. With 120 stores worldwide, Maison Margiela continues to elevate the retail experience, blending artistic design with timeless luxury, inviting clients to indulge in a journey through their iconic brand universe.
